Anti Graffiti Solutions that include Graffiti Removal & Anti-Graffiti Coatings from the Experts

We offer graffiti removal solutions and anti graffiti coatings that protect the surface from further graffiti attack.

Graffiti Removal
Graffiti removal products are far more sophisticated than standard paint removers. Paint removers are extremely bad for the environment as are graffiti removal solutions that have a strong solvent content. Graffiti removal from unprotected surfaces which involves paint can also be problematic, depending on the surface material, surface porosity and the type and age of the graffiti paint. In these cases once cleaned an anti graffiti coating should be used for further protection.

Anti Graffiti Coatings
Combating graffiti is a growing social problem that can be extremely expensive to implement. We offer a range of anti graffiti coatings that help reduce today?s escalating labour costs. A sacrificial anti graffiti coating that is cleaned off with the graffiti paints, this anti graffiti coating needs to be re-applied after graffiti removal. A permanent protective anti graffiti coating which is essentially a transparent, non-pigmented paint that needs special cleaning products for graffiti removal.

Graffiti & Anti Graffiti Jargon Buster

Graffiti stems from the ancient Roman custom of wall writing, if you wanted to announce something to the world then you scratched the message into the wall. Graffiti now occurs worldwide, sometimes seen as an art form, but more often than not, as a defacement of a property.

Graffiti surfaces: A type of surfaces are victim to graffiti paints including brickwork, block-work, paintwork, marble, sandstone, granite, plaster, render, metal work, glass and plastic.

Monument graffiti: Monuments, graves and national heritage sites are increasingly being targeted by graffiti. When dealing with such monument graffiti, great care must be taken not to damage the surface. Aggressive paint removers and permanent anti-graffiti coatings must not be used.

Graffiti paints: All types of paint is used to make graffiti including emulsion, acrylics, epoxies, polyurethane, ink and oil based paints. They can be difficult to remove off unprotected surfaces.

Graffiti blocking-out technique: Some graffiti makers like to block out the area they intend to paint with a light coloured emulsion paint. Other paints, such a spray car paint are then applied on top of this.

Graffiti Removal

Removing graffiti: Cleaning graffiti paint from unprotected surfaces can be problematic, depending on the surface material, surface porosity and type and age of graffiti paint. New graffiti will generally be much easier to remove than old graffiti. At one extreme there is stubborn old oil paint and at the other, fresh emulsion graffiti paint.

Graffiti cleaning solvents: Graffiti removal solutions that have a strong solvent content are hazardous to use and are bad for the environment. High performance, safe to use graffiti cleaning products are available with minimum solvent content.

Paint remover: Graffiti removal products are far more sophisticated than paint strippers. The term paint remover generally refers to non-user-friendly graffiti cleaning solvents that are definitely bad for the environment.

Washing off graffiti: Where a sacrificial graffiti coating has been applied, a low pressure, hot water jet can be used to remove graffiti paint. After the graffiti removal operation, the protecting coating is topped up in the cleaned areas.

Anti Graffiti Coatings

Graffiti protection: The are two broad approaches to controlling and managing graffiti pollution. A protective and permanent anti-graffiti coating is used together with special graffiti cleaning products or sacrificial graffiti coatings that are removed with hot water.

Invisible graffiti protection coatings. Graffiti protection coatings, especially protective and permanent anti-graffiti coatings, can drastically change the surface appearance, typically making the surface dark and shiny. Sacrificial coating tend to be invisible and not change surface appearance.

Sacrificial anti-graffiti coating: A sacrificial anti-graffiti coating makes graffiti paints easy to remove by hot water. Graffiti paints are cleaned off the surface together with the protective anti-graffiti coating.

Permanent anti-graffiti coating: A permanent protective anti-graffiti coating needs special cleaning products to clean off graffiti paints. They are essentially transparent, non-pigmented paint. For obvious reasons, the graffiti cleaning products cannot remove graffiti paint of a similar type to the protective coating.

Anti-graffiti coating damage: Graffiti protection coatings, especially permanent anti-graffiti coatings, have limited permeability and thus reduce the passage of water vapour. In cold weather, the surface can progressively deteriorate under the destructive action free-thaw cycles.
